Care shouldn't be confusing.
That one idea has shaped my whole career — from Ohio State, through military dental care, to directing dentistry for people with profound disabilities.
Where it started
I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery at The Ohio State University — one of the country's most respected dental programs. That training gave me a deep clinical foundation, but just as importantly, it gave me a habit I've never lost: keep learning, and never stop explaining. In the years since, I've spent 15+ years treating patients of every age, from a toddler's first checkup to complex restorative work for adults.
My connection to Ohio State didn't end at graduation. I later returned as an adjunct professor at The Ohio State University, teaching special needs and pediatric dentistry to first- and second-year dental students. That work sits close to my heart — it's the same population I care for at Heinzerling — and teaching it sharpened the thing I value most: taking something complex and making it clear.
Licensed in two states — and trusted by the U.S. military
I'm licensed to practice in both Ohio and Georgia. Beyond private practice, I provide dental care on a contract basis for the U.S. military — work that demands precision, accountability, and the ability to care for a wide range of people and needs.

The role that says the most about how I practice is my work as Director of Dentistry at Heinzerling Community, which serves children and adults with severe and profound developmental disabilities. Providing dental care for patients with complex needs takes extraordinary patience, adaptability, and compassion — it's specialized work that relatively few dentists are equipped, or willing, to take on. It has changed the way I treat everyone who sits in my chair.
My philosophy: a translator, not a salesperson
People make better decisions about their health when they actually understand what's happening. So my job, as I see it, is to translate — to take what's going on in your mouth and your options and explain them in plain English, calmly and honestly, without pressure. That's what this site is for, too.
